When you add a new supplier feed, you need to map the supplier's column names to the attributes in your schema. FeedPrep's AI can analyze the supplier column names and suggest which attribute each one maps to — even when the names are in different languages or use non-standard conventions.
How It Works
- Upload or import a supplier feed.
- On the column mapping page, click "AI Suggest".
- AI analyzes the supplier's column names against your schema attributes and suggests the best match for each unmapped column.
- Suggestions appear for review. For each suggestion, click Accept to apply the mapping or Dismiss to skip it.
Suggestions are never auto-applied. You always review before any mappings are saved.
What Does the AI Understand?
The AI handles a wide range of column naming conventions across languages:
- "Farbe" → Color
- "Artikelnummer" → SKU
- "Produktname" → Name
- "Breite" → Width
- "Gewicht" → Weight
- "colour_name" → Color
- "wt" → Weight
- "w_cm" → Width
- "Mat." → Material
It understands abbreviations, full words, German, French, Dutch, Swedish, Spanish, and many more languages commonly found in European supplier data.
Cost
2 credits per operation. One operation covers all unmapped columns in a single adapter. See Understanding AI Credits for more details on how credits work.
When to Use It
AI column mapping is most useful when:
- You're onboarding a new supplier for the first time.
- The supplier uses a language you don't read fluently.
- The supplier has many columns and you want a head start on mapping.
For suppliers you've already mapped, the mappings persist — you won't need to re-map columns on subsequent feed uploads.
